Questions people ask about switching

Is it awkward to leave my current accountant?

It doesn't need to be. Once you've signed up, we write to your current accountant for professional clearance and the handover. It's a normal, everyday part of the job for accountants, so you don't need to have that conversation yourself.

When is the best time to change accountant?

Any time. Many people switch just after their accounts or tax return have been filed, so the new accountant starts with a clean year, but there's no bad time to move. If something is due soon, we'll tell you straight away and prioritise it.

How much does it cost?

Our fees for trading limited companies start from £125 a month + VAT, and every client gets proactive reviews as standard. We'll give you a fixed price after a free 15-minute call, so you know exactly where you stand.

Will I lose any records or history?

No. We request the handover information from your previous accountant, and your HMRC and Companies House records stay exactly where they are. We just get authorised to act for you.

Do I need to tell my current accountant first?

It's worth checking your current engagement letter for any notice period. Beyond that, you can leave it to us. We'll contact them once you've signed up.

Do you work with businesses outside Suffolk?

Yes. We're based in Thurston near Bury St Edmunds and work with ambitious business owners across the UK, using Xero and video calls so location is never a barrier.
